K-12:  Pentwater Public Schools.

Undergraduate degree:   B.A. English, with a Minor in Geography.

Master's degree:  Northern Arizona University (M.A. Literature).


I taught 9th grade English for 3 years at West Ottawa Schools (Holland, MI).

Then, I taught 3 semesters of college English (freshman comp) at Northern Arizona University.

I have been at Owosso since 2003.



I am a graduate of Pentwater High School, where I had 25 students in my graduating class. I played baseball and basketball, was on the quiz bowl team, and participated in several leadership and philosophy forums. From there, I attended Michigan State University. I was originally an Urban Planning major but eventually settled on English. I have a minor in Geography. Following my graduation from MSU, I student taught at Lansing’s Pattengill Middle School for one year, and then I taught 9th grade English at West Ottawa High School, in Holland, MI. I was at West Ottawa for three years before moving to Flagstaff, Arizona to pursue my Master’s degree in Literature at Northern Arizona University. While I was in Flagstaff, I taught a writing course for college freshmen at NAU. I have been at Owosso High School since January 2003.
