Bio

I am from Indianapolis, IN where most of my family still lives.  I grew up in the town of Speedway less than two miles from the Indianapolis 500 mile racetrack. I graduated from Cardinal Ritter High School and then attended Indiana University in Bloomington.  I spent my first two years at IU before I transferred to Marian College (now Marian University) where I participated in tennis, basketball, and golf.  During my fourth year of college, I started coaching basketball at my alma mater so I discontinued playing for Marian. During my fifth year at Marian, I was a player/coach for the mens and womens tennis teams.

After graduation, I got my first teaching position at an inner city middle school in Indianapolis.  I taught at St. Joan of Arc for one year before moving to teach at Hamilton Heights High School just north of Indianapolis.  For both years, I coached basketball while also coaching softball and baseball.  After my second year of teaching, I enrolled in the Indiana University graduate program seeking a masters degree in school administration.  While in school I was a graduate assistant and associate instructor in the school of education and also a graduate manager for the men's basketball team at IU under Hall of Fame coach Bob Knight.

After receiving my masters degree, I accepted a position on Tom Izzos staff at Michigan State with the mens basketball program.  During my four years at MSU, we won four Big Ten Championships, two Big Ten Tournaments, attended three Final Fours, and won the 2000 National Championship.  My family and I are also avid Michigan State fans.

In the early summer of 2001, I accepted my current teaching position at Owosso High School.  My wife, Robin, and our three children Nick, David, and Katie moved to Owosso in September of 2001.  Robin is a nurse in the surgical department at Memorial Healthcare.
